Recycle

The Town of Smithfield has a contract with AVES/Moody's for residential recycling services. The Town will provide each resident with one 96 gallon container. Extra containers may be rented from AVES/Moody's for $5.50 per month. Beginning July 1, 2013 pick up will be once a week (Thursdays for residents on West Side and Friday's for residents on East Side).

If recycling falls on a holiday, it will be picked up the following week. There are no makeup days.

Acceptable recyclables include: aluminum and metal cans, cardboard (must be broken down, no wax), catalogs, glass, junk mail, newspaper, office paper, plastics (i.e. drinking bottles, milk jugs, butter tubs and lids).

In a effort to provide opportunties for businesses and residents of apartments to recycle or for those that have an overflow of recycling, the town has placed a recycling dumpster at the corner of James Street and Washington Street.

If you have questions about acceptable items or recycling services, please contact AVES/Moody's at 357-9997.
