Zoning Permit Applications

Zoning Permits are required for the construction, renovation or demolition of commercial buildings, homes, home additions, decks, sheds, fences, etc.

Zoning permits for homes and commercial applications have a $75.00 fee.

Zoning permits for home additions, decks, sheds, fences, etc. have a $25.00 fee.

Most jobs that require a Zoning Permit from the town will also require a Building Permit from Isle of Wight County, please contact their Permits Office at 757-365-6213 to determine if your job requires one.

If a job is valued at over $25,000.00, you will need to contact the Town of Smithfield Treasurer's Office about acquiring a Business License.
