FOG (Fats, Oils and Grease) Program

The Smithfield Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance and improvements of public roads and right-of-ways (not including those owned by VDOT), water systems, and sewer systems. Mr. Jessie Snead serves as the Public Works Superintendent. Mr. Brian Freeman serves as the town's Public Works Supervisor for Water Department and Mr. Darryle Warren serves as Public Works Supervisor for Sewer Department.

Water Rates

For Service Rendered Within Corporate limits: The Bimonthly Rate for water customers shall be $19.30, Plus $2.55 per 1,000 gallons of water used during the bimonthly billing period.

For Service Rendered Outside Corporate limits: The Bimonthly Rate for water customers shall be $19.30, Plus $3.19 per 1,000 gallons of water used during the bimonthly billing period.

Sewer Rates

Inside Town Corporate limits: Bimonthly Rate - $2.90 per 1,000 gallons . This is in addition to charges levied by the Hampton Roads Sanitation District (HRSD).

Outside Town Corporate Limits: Bimonthly Rate - $3.63 per 1,000 gallons . This is in addition to charges levied by the Hampton Roads Sanitation District (HRSD)..
