American Legion's Post #49 Officer of the Year 2006

In March 2007, Sergeant Julian Evans was awarded the American Legion Post #49’s Officer of the Year.  Chief Mark Marshall presented the award, recognizing Sergeant Evans' dedication to police work and the Town of Smithfield.

Sergeant Evans has demonstrated a willingness to assist his fellow officers and the department as a whole, through his continued work with, Community Presentations, field training of new officers, Defensive Tactics training, ASP Training, and serving as a general instructor. 

Sergeant Evans understands multi-tasking and willingly steps up to the plate to meet new challenges with a positive attitude.  We are proud of his accomplishments and significant contributions to Smithfield Police Department, and look forward to his service for years to come.   Congratulations, Julian.
