Officer James Tragesser

BIOGRAPHY:
Officer Tragesser has been in law enforcement since July 2002, when he began his career with the Portsmouth Police Department.  He has been with Smithfield Police Department since August 2004.  He was recognized by the Southeastern Chapter of MADD for his DUI arrests for the year 2003.  He was was recognized by HEAT for the recovery of stolen vehicles in 2005.  Officer Tragesser served in the United States Navy for four years and supported the United States during Operation Southern Watch and Operation Southern Strike.  Officer Tragesser is currently a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, and a the American Legion Post 49.

Officer Tragesser enjoys serving the Town of Smithfield and working with the community to maintain its quality of life.
