
Smithfield Treasurer
The Treasurer’s office is responsible for billing and collecting annual tax revenues and local fees. The office also works closely with Public Works to manage water and sewer accounting, including billing and collections, for the Town. Other functions include cash management, budgeting, financial statement reporting, audit preparation, and payroll processing. The department strives to serve customers in an efficient, professional, and courteous manner while responsibly managing public funds.
Schedule of Fees
- Fishing Permits - The Town owns a 4.5 acre pond off Waterworks Road and maintains a fishing pier along the north bank of the Pagan River. A state issued freshwater or saltwater license is required.
- Yard Sale Permits - Yard sales are permitted for 2 consecutive days per year, Twice Per Calender Year. The fee is $10.
- Dance Permits - A fee of $25 for each public dance is paid to the Town before the event. Actual location, date and time must first be approved by the Chief of Police before the permit can be issued.
