NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF SMITHFIELD

SPECIAL USE PERMIT

 

            Notice is hereby given that the Planning Commission of the Town of Smithfield, Virginia will hold a public hearing at the regular meeting of the Planning Commission in the council chambers in The Smithfield Center, 220 N. Church Street, meeting room A, Smithfield, Virginia, on Tuesday, December 12th, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. to consider the application of Thomas Grover, applicant and Brian & Jonetta Moody, owner for two special use permits under the provisions of Article 2.Q. and Article 3.B.C.25 of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Smithfield, Virginia, adopted September 1, 1998, and as amended thereafter, in order to approve an accessory apartment and a waiver of height limitation for accessory buildings,  respectively.

The property which is the subject of this special use permit application is 48 Riverside Drive (Tax Map Parcel no. 22D-03-I005), which is located on the south side of Riverside Drive and contains 0.75 +/- acres.  The parcel’s current zoning designation is Neighborhood Residential (NR).

            Any person affected by or interested in the aforesaid application may appear at the hearing and be heard.  Copies of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Smithfield and application for this special use permit are available for inspection at the Department of Community Development & Planning, 310 Institute Street, Smithfield, Virginia 23430.

Church Street, meeting room A, Smithfield, Virginia, on Tuesday, December 12th, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. to consider the application of Greg Schmitt, applicant and Town of Smithfield, owner for a special use permit under the provisions of Article 3.A.C.5 of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Smithfield, Virginia, adopted September 1, 1998, and as amended thereafter, in order to approve the proposed use of “public use.”

The property which is the subject of this special use permit application is 900 W Main Street (Tax Map Parcel no. 21-01-051), which is located on the north side of W Main Street and contains 92.97 +/- acres.  The parcel’s current zoning designation is Community Conservation (CC).

            Any person affected by or interested in the aforesaid application may appear at the hearing and be heard.  Copies of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Smithfield and application for this special use permit are available for inspection at the Department of Community Development & Planning, 310 Institute Street, Smithfield, Virginia 23430.

The property which is the subject of this special use permit application is 888 W Main Street (Tax Map Parcel no. 21-01-051B), which is located on the north side of W Main Street and contains 8.35 +/- acres.  The parcel’s current zoning designation is Community Conservation (CC).

            Any person affected by or interested in the aforesaid application may appear at the hearing and be heard.  Copies of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Smithfield and application for this special use permit are available for inspection at the Department of Community Development & Planning, 310 Institute Street, Smithfield, Virginia 23430.
