NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

THE TOWN OF SMITHFIELD BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS

SPECIAL USE/YARD EXCEPTION

 

            Notice is hereby given that the Board of Zoning Appeals of the Town of Smithfield, Virginia, will hold a public hearing at the regular meeting of the Board of Zoning Appeals in the council chambers in The Smithfield Center, 220 N. Church Street, meeting room A, Smithfield, Virginia on Tuesday, December 19th, 2023, at 7:30 p.m. to consider the application of Thomas Grover, applicant, and Brian & Jonetta Moody, owner for a special use/yard exception under the provisions of Article 12, Section F.6.a of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Smithfield, Virginia, adopted September 1, 1998, and as amended thereafter, in order to approve a special use/yard exception to allow the modification of a residential accessory structure with a side yard setback of 12.8 feet, encroaching into the 15 foot required side yard setback, approximately 2.2 feet +/-. The property is located at 48 Riverside Drive (TPIN: 22D-03-I005) and is zoned N-R (Neighborhood Residential) District. 

            Any person affected by or interested in the aforesaid application may appear at the hearing and be heard. Copies of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Smithfield and the application for this special use/ yard exception are available for inspection in the Community Development and Planning Department, 310 Institute Street, Smithfield, Virginia 23430.

            Notice is hereby given that the Board of Zoning Appeals of the Town of Smithfield, Virginia, will hold a public hearing at the regular meeting of the Board of Zoning Appeals in the council chambers in The Smithfield Center, 220 N. Church Street, meeting room A, Smithfield, Virginia on Tuesday, December 19th, 2023, at 7:30 p.m. to consider the application of John & Stephanie Caggiano, applicant and owner for a special yard exception under the provisions of Article 12, Section F.7.a of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Smithfield, Virginia, adopted September 1, 1998, and as amended thereafter, in order to approve a special yard exception to allow 16 foot side yard setbacks, encroaching into the 25 foot required side yard setback, approximately 9 feet +/- on each side. The property is located at 605 Jericho Road (TPIN: 21-01-090) and is zoned C-C (Community Conservation) District. 

            Any person affected by or interested in the aforesaid application may appear at the hearing and be heard.
