The repairs to the brick sidewalks in the 100 and 200 blocks have begun and will pause in anticipation of increased diner and shopper traffic for Restaurant Week and Valentine’s Day. So, subject to change if weather does not cooperate, the proposed schedule is:
Monday - Wednesday, January 28 - 30: Remove and replace brick pavers on Main Street near Institute Street (Post Office).
Project pauses and resumes after Restaurant Week and Valentine’s Day. The expected sequence is then:
Monday – Thursday, February 18-21: Remove and replace brick pavers on Main Street near S. Church Street (Museum) and the crosswalks to the south and east of the Main and Mason Street intersection.
Monday – Thursday, February 25-28: The crosswalks to the north and west of the Main and Mason Street intersection.
There will be no flagging. For the Institute and S. Church crosswalks, Main Street will be closed completely at those locations, 48 hours each. For the Main & Mason crosswalks, the intersection will be open in one direction one week and in the other the next week.
There are no road closures planned for Friday – Sunday for the duration of the project.
