ZONING PERMITS ARE REQUIRED FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, RENOVATION, OR DEMOLITION OF COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS, HOMES, HOME ADDITIONS, DECKS, SHEDS, FENCES, ETC.

- Zoning Permits for Homes and Commercial Applications have a $75.00 fee.
- Zoning Permits for Home Additions, Decks, Sheds, Fences, etc. have a $30.00 fee.

Most jobs that require a Zoning Permit from the Town will also require a Building Permit from Isle of Wight County, please contact their Permits Office at 757-365-6213 to determine if your job requires one.
Note: If a job is valued at over $25,000.00, you will need to contact the Town of Smithfield Treasurer's Office about acquiring a Business License.
