Sgt. Brady graduated from Smithfield High School in 1991. After completing his Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from Christopher Newport University he began his law enforcement career in 1997 at Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail. He continued his law enforcement career by joining Poquoson Police Department in 2001.

While at Poquoson Police Department, Sgt. Brady rose to the rank of Sergeant before leaving and joining the Smithfield Police Department in 2011 to be closer to family.

Sgt. Brady enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing.
