Lorrie is a lifelong resident of Smithfield. She graduated from Smithfield High School in 1980 and continued her education at Kee Business College, Tidewater Community College, and Paul D. Camp with a concentration in Accounting and Criminal Justice. After high school and completion of Kee Business College, Lorrie was employed at the Surry Nuclear Power Station for 13 years. Lorrie is a former employee with the Town of Smithfield and served previously as a Police Officer. Lorrie has returned to the Smithfield Police Department as a Records Administrator after operating a trucking business for several years. She enjoys reading, helping others, and any outdoor activity, especially beautifying her yard.
